Facts! The Birpai people are the traditional custodians of the land where Port Macquarie is.
We stayed on the river which was close to lots of beaches. We went fishing on the rocks, we caught lots of fish and 3 cat fish.
We were jumping on the rocks and the rocks were painted, some were to remember people who had died :( these are our favourites. Harry dropped his pocket knife between the rocks and then he cried.
We rode our bikes and Mum hired a bike and we went to St Thomas Anglican Church which was built by convicts. We saw flat nails that they made by hand. We went to the very top and the guide let us ring the bell and took a photo of us.
We visited Timber Town and went on an old steam train. We found gems and fools gold in the creek. We rode a horse drawn tractor and buggy like in the olden days.
We went to the Port Macquarie lighthouse, the lightkeeper's house wasn't there anymore but the foundations were and there were labels showing which room was which. There was no toilet inside.
We had dinner at a place called Little Shack, we had tacos and soft drink! We found an old rusty chain in the rocks.
There was also a skate park and playground and we made lots of friends.
The kids very impressed by the hamster wheel trick! “Insane”, they said.
